Daughters of Africa Book Club began in 1999 in Los Angeles, California. It was instituted by Sherise and Stacey, who both are determined to ignite African American Women by exploring and finding a world within themselves.  One way that they believed that their vision would become a reality was by establishing a Book-Club full of God Fearing women who are determined to overcome all of lifes obstacles by connecting with women with similar ambitions who would ultimately encourage one another to conquer any obstacle when presented with a challenge.  Currently there are 2 Chapters of Daughters of Africa, The L.A. Chapter and the Chicago Chapter!  We presently meet once a month to take part in several activities; however, every other month we have our Book Review in new and exciting ways.

Daughters of Africa also publishes a quarterly Newsletter titled, "Connecting With My Sisters."  In the Newsletter we discuss the current books that we have reviewed, we talk about our Daughter of the Quarter, we have motivating and encouraging articles on a variety of topics, etc....

President of D of A

Mrs. Sherise is our wonderful and vastly intelligent President.  You can read more about this superb Book Club that was birthed through the vision that God gave her 7 years ago under the History section (to the right).

I am what I am because God recognized that I was to be what He wanted from me."

We are D of A, not because we were born in Africa but because Africa was born in US!!!
